Falling up the Stairs....nice.
Today, walking to Spanish through the Student Center, dreading walking out into the cold, blustery weather, I had my hands in my pockets. Now, this is not necessarily a bad thing...except if one has a tendency to fall up stairs. On the way up to the stairs to the Rotunda, I proceeded to do my little trick of falling up the stairs. Unfortunately, I couldn't get my hands out of my pockets. I managed to break my fall, somewhat, with my backpack. I lay on the floor laughing, and a kid who had seen me fall helped me up as he suppressed his laughter. It was actually pretty funny. It's a good thing that I'm not mortified easily with public displays of clumsiness-otherwise I might have been severely traumatized. As it is, I'm able to have a good laugh at myself and marvel at my amazing abilities in regard to falling up the stairs.

Wrong Word Use
So I was watching a movie last night called "Stick it" about Gymnastics and the pitfalls of the old judging system and taking control of life as an individual. Anyway, there was this girl in the movie who was redheaded actually, but acted like the proverbial blond. There was one point in the movie in which she was trying to dissuade her gymnastics coach from getting on the gymnastics trampoline to show his students that he still had some proficiency in gymnastics. One of her arguments went along these lines: "Sir, it's too dangerous; if you go up there you could have a Cardio Vasectomy!"
My roommates just looked at me as I began to laugh hysterically.

Creepy Experience
I went to the High School today to visit some of my old teachers there...well, not that they're old...but you get what I mean. Anyway, I decided to walk home. I haven't made that particular walk in quite a while. It was eerie doing something that I hadn't done in a while that was so common-place for three years of my life. As I walked home I was observing the changes in the neighborhood as well as those things that had remained constant. I'm usually super observant, and as I was walking I noticed a car going to opposite direction that appeared to be going rather slow. In my head the thought that I had was "That guy's gonna stop." Lo and behold, that's exactly what happened. "How ya' doin' a late-twenties-early-thirties guy yelled to me. Well, I wasn't going to answer, so I just kept walking. "Do you need a ride?" he persisted. By this time, I recognized the scum-bag for what he was. I quickly glanced back and said in a very firm voice, "No, I don't" then turned around and kept walking without looking back. I realize now that I should have written down his license plate, but I was not going to give the guy any encouragement. I figured that if I didn't give him the time of day, he would realize that I wasn't an easy target. Well, he drove off, and my gut told me that he wouldn't be coming back. I had made myself pretty clear...but the common-sense part of me told me to get off the street. My best friend's house was close by, so I decided to go and see if her mom would let me hang out there for a few minutes until my mom arrived to pick me up. I later called the Elementary School because the incident happened disturbingly close to it and reported the incident to them. It made me soooooo thankful for the self-defense class that I had taken this last semester, mainly because I knew that I was capable of defending myself if that guy would have tried anything weirder than what he did. Just shows that you never know what could happen, and it's always better to be safe than sorry.

The Snake Song
I am happy to announce, that the the Cedar City Institute Choir will be performing The Garden on April 8th and 9th. Having said this, I would now like to discuss my growing uneasiness that one of my favorite songs is the Snake Song (also referred to, by me, as "the Satan Song"). I like the whispers, and the tune, and the repeated use of s's within the lyrics to imitate the sound of a hissing snake. Does that make me an evil person, I wonder? I feel kinda awkward for liking "the Satan Song."...............

Skittles with the M&M's!....Really?!?!
Skittles and M&M's were never meant to be mixed. Some kid came into the Writing Center and reorganized the candy. Unfortunately, he put the skittles in with the M&M's. I don't know exactly who it was, but if I ever find out, I think I might force-feed him a handful. When you're expecting chocolaty goodness that "melts in your mouth, and not in your hand," but instead find a hint of something fruity thrown into the mix, the disappointment can be quite acute.
